Dear Parents,
Thank you for the wonderful donations of daffodils this week. We celebrated the Spring Equinox in true style here. They really did give the whole school a lift. Thank you.
I hope you all managed to make an appointment to see your child's teacher this week. Owls class - there will be an opportunity after the Easter holidays. It is really important to us that we build a relationship between school and home. It is vital for your child to get the most from their education and time in school. Teachers are more than happy to make an appointment with you if you weren't able to meet this week.
There is a lot of online content around at the moment following the release of the series 'Adolescence'. This has got me reflecting on our children. We are still experiencing children that are talking and sharing games and YouTube content that is not appropriate for their age range. We are also seeing a direct correlation between children who talk about these games and their ability to focus on learning in class. Excessive screen time can make it harder to concentrate in school. The constant stimulation from screens can make it difficult to focus on tasks that require sustained attention, like listening to a lesson or completing activities.
As a parent myself with 13-year-old girls, it is very easy to bury our heads in the sand. Most of the conflict in my household is around phone use and more TikTok time. It drives me crazy! I do, however, stick to our agreed plan and most of the time it doesn't push me over the edge. Please consider how much time your child spends on screen and restrict their access to age-appropriate content to protect their childhood.

Lost property - please name all items of clothing, including PE jumpers. Please could we also ask that you check the names in items your child brings home, as we have some missing items that have been named.
I hope you have a restful weekend,
Kerry Devane
