Message from the Headteacher
So we have come to the end of our first half-term. It has flown by! The children in KS1 have been learning about the weather this week. They had a chance to take part in some very exciting weather experiments. The children were very motivated to draw and write about what they had seen. Especially the rain experiment. See photo below.
Last week I mentioned the importance of language development. I found this website that has lots of help and advice for Parents and Carers.

In school, we will be introducing new words each week to support language development. Our words for the first week back are delicious, disappear, bright and enter.
You may have seen media reports about a Netflix series called Squid Game which some children in school have been talking about. Squid Game is currently the most watched show in 90 countries and nearly all episodes of the '15' rated show contain violent and gruesome scenes which are inappropriate for primary aged children. There are also app games that are based on the series.
By updating parents and carers of new themes and trends in the digital world, we hope you will feel better informed to deal with any issues your child may raise. In school, we place great emphasis on promoting e-safety and encouraging pupils to alert trusted adults to anything they are uncomfortable with online. Films and games have an age rating for a reason, and it's really to protect our children's childhood. Please see the link below for more guidance.

I hope you all have a fantastic half-term and get to spend some quality time with your family.
