The School Day
Our school day starts at 8.40am when the school classroom doors are opened. Children are then registered. The Key Stage One children (Year 1 and 2) have a morning break at 11am. Lunchtime arrangements start at 11.45am for the Reception children, followed by the rest of the school and finish at 1.15pm. Assemblies are held in the mornings at 8.50am. The school day will finish at 3.10pm. This is a total of 32.5hours per week. See below for detailed timetables for each Class.
Attendance Matters
We expect children to be in school on time every day, ready to learn. Please see our Attendance and Punctuality Policy on the School Pages of this website. Each Autumn, we send home a leaflet which highlights the importance we place on Attendance and Punctuality. Classes are rewarded for good attendance.
Assemblies and collective worship
A Collective Act of Worship is held in each school each day, led by a member of school staff. These often include visitors to the school eg St John's Vicar, our local librarian or are themed, eg celebration assembly, etc.
Free clubs
We offer free lunchtime and after-school clubs (3.10 - 4pm) run by our amazing staff. Registration forms come out in September, December and April. Clubs have included ocarina, drawing club, abbey wanderers, lego, gym, choir and library club. Our aim is for every child to have attended at least one club per year.
